মারফত খবর ছিল। ধৃত অবিনাশের সঙ্গে সরাসরি যোগাযোগ রয়েছে কেএলও প্রধান দেশদ্রোহী মামলায় ফেরার আসামি জীবন সিংহের। তার নির্দেশ মতই শিলিগুড়িতে জঙ্গী গোষ্ঠীর একটি দল পরিকল্পনামাফিক গতিবিধি শুরু করেছে। বেশ কয়েক মাসে ধরে জীবন সিংহের একাধিক ভিডিওবার্তা ঘিরে ফের পৃথক উত্তরবঙ্গ আসামের একটা অংশ নিয়ে কামতাপুর রাজ্য বিভেদের দাবি ফুসিয়ে তোলা হচ্ছে। এসটিএফ সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে শিলিগুড়িতে জঙ্গিগোষ্ঠীর একটি দল ব্যবসায়ীদের কাছ থেকে সংগঠনের জন্য টাকা তোলার কাজে আসে। অবিনাশ ছিল সেই দলের মূল। শিলিগুড়ি থেকে হাওলায় বিহার আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র নিয়ে তা মায়ানমারের পৌঁছনোর পরিকল্পনা নিয়েই কষা ছক ধরে চলছে শিলিগুড়ি শহর ও উত্তরবঙ্গে জুড়ে ছড়িয়ে থাকা জঙ্গী সংগঠনের সক্রিয় সদস্যরা। ছদ্দবেশে শিলিগুড়ির শান্তিনগর বিনয় মোড়ে বাড়ি ভাড়া নিয়ে ছিল অবিনাশ, শ্রমিকের বেশ ধরে নয়াবাজারে চাল গোডাউনে কাজ করতো।
এসটিএফ এর ডিএসপি সুদীপ ভট্টাচার্য জানান অবিনাশ সক্রিয় কেএলও জঙ্গি। এর সঙ্গে আরও বেশ কয়েকজন শহরে রয়েছে। খোঁজ শুরু করেছে এসটিএফ। ধৃতকে ১৩ দিনের পুলিশি হেফাজতের নির্দেশ দেয় শিলিগুড়ি আদালত। ধৃতের বিরুদ্ধে দেশদ্রোহিতা, রাষ্ট্রের বিরুদ্ধে যোগসাজশ সহ একাধিক ধারায় মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে।
