শিলিগুড়ি। কোভিডে মৃতদেহ আটকে লাগামছাড়া বিল আদায়ে রুগী পরিবারকে চাপ বেসরকারি হাসপাতালের। জেলা প্রশাসনের হস্তক্ষেপে মৃত বাবার দেহ হাতে পেলেন ছেলে। সরকারি নির্দেশিকাকে অমান্য করে কোভিড শয্যা পেতে এক লাখ টাকা ধার্য্য করছে শিলিগুড়ি কলেজপাড়ার নন্দলাল বসুর সরণির একটি বেসরকারি নার্সিংহোম। একাধিকবার রুগী পরিবারের তরফে এই অভিযোগ উঠেছে। সম্প্রতি শিলিগুড়ি পুরনিগমের ১৭ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডেরই এক বাসিন্দা অভিযোগ করেন কোভিড শয্যা পেতে হলে তা বাবদ ৯০ হাজার টাকা দাবি করে তাদের কাছে হাসপাতাল। রুগী পরিবার ৬০হাজার টাকা দিয়ে রুগীকে ভর্তি করার কথা বললেও, হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ পুরো টাকা না মেলা পর্যন্ত মুমূর্ষ রুগীকে ভর্তি না নিয়ে ফেলে রাখে।

আর এবারে ভর্তির সময়তে এক লক্ষ টাকা অগ্রিম সহ বে-লাগাম বিলের অভিযোগ উঠলো শিলিগুড়ির ওই বেসরকারি নার্সিংহোমের বিরুদ্ধে। শিলিগুড়ি পুরনিগমের ১৮নাম্বার ওয়ার্ডের বাসিন্দা অরিন্দম সরকার জানান মে মাসে প্রথমদিকেই তারা সপরিবারে কোভিডে আক্রান্ত হন। মে মাসের ২রা মে তার বাবা,মা ও দাদাকে ভর্তি করা হয় কলেজপাড়ার ওই হাসপাতালে।২০’শে মে সেখানেই মৃত্যু হয় তার মায়ের। হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ ৭লক্ষ ৩১হাজার টাকার বিল ধরিয়ে দেয়। এরপর গত সোমবার অরিন্দ বাবুর মায়ের মৃত্যুর চার দিনের মাথায় মৃত্যু হয় তার বাবার। তার বাবার চিকিৎসার ক্ষেত্রেও এক লক্ষ টাকা সরকারি নির্দেশ ভেঙে অগ্রিম নেয় ওই হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ। এদিকে
তার দাদা সুস্থ্য হন, তার বাবদ ওই বেসরকারি হাসপাতাল ৫লাখ টাকার বিল ধার্য্য করে। অরিন্দম বাবু জানান তার দাদার চিকিৎসার বিলের ক্ষেত্রে বিশাল অসঙ্গতি চোখে পড়ে তাদের। সেখানে দেখা যায় মাত্র ২৪ঘন্টা রুগীকে অক্সিজেন দেওয়া হলেও বিলে ৫৬ ঘন্টা অক্সিজেন প্রদানের উল্লেখ্য করে অর্থ ধরা হয়েছে। কোভিডে ব্যবহৃত ওষুধপত্রের লাগামহীন ভাবে বিল তৈরি করা হয়েছে ৪৬০০০টাকার। তবে তখনও ওই হাসপাতালে তার বাবা ভর্তি রয়েছেন তাই বিতর্কে জড়াননি তারা। সোমবার হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ তার বাবার মৃত্যুর খবর দেয় পরিবারকে। ৮লক্ষ ৩১হাজার টাকার বিল মেটানোর জন্য হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ রুগী পরিবারকে চাপ দিতে লাগে। অথচ এত লক্ষ লক্ষ টাকার কি চিকিৎসা হয়েছে তার কোন তথ্যই রুগী পরিবারকে দেয়নি হাসপাতাল।
